First of all, how amazing is this shoot?! Go on, take a look. You can scroll back up and read this after. We had so much fun collaborating with all of these vendors for this Fall styled shoot and I think it turned out amazing! From the venue to the photographer and makeup, it really looks like a dream! I was also looking forward to having these pictures because I never really loved the pictures from my actual wedding to Blake 4 years ago. It was kind of a fun do-over and I'm lucky to have a husband/partner who says yes when I ask him to do photoshoots with me (lol)! I got a good one ladies.
Speaking of marriage, isn't it funny how weddings can make marriage seem like a fairytale? Don't get me wrong, I love a beautiful wedding but when I think about it now, I know I would do some things differently. For one, I'm completely convinced that having a small destination wedding would've been much less of a headache! If I knew then what I know now, I would've done that in a heartbeat. There were so many people at our wedding (people I don't even talk to anymore) and I'm thankful for them being there of course, but sometimes I think about how much more special and intimate it would've been with a smaller crowd or even just family. With that being said, I loved my wedding and it was a special day that I will always cherish!
Unfortunately though, marriage is not all rainbows and butterflies. It's hard work and it takes a lot of compromise. I love Blake more than anything and he is my very best friend. That doesn't mean he doesn't drive me nuts sometimes! (lol) I think that's the beauty in marriage though. Not everything is perfect and sometimes when things are rocky, you can lean on each other and it brings you closer together. Love isn't this magical, fairytale type of feeling. Love is a decision to be with someone everyday and love them even through the hard stuff. Admitting that you aren't perfect is a huge step and that's been a hard one for me (even though I know I'm not perfect). Sometimes you can have your expectations set really high and when your S.O. disappoints you it makes you second guess why you're with them. Instead of wondering that, figure out how you can make your partner understand you better. Don't give up, work through the issue!
Now, Blake and I don't have the perfect marriage but I think we both understand that loving each other isn't so much of a feeling as it is a decision that we must make everyday. Some days we fail... but we both try to learn from it as much as possible. Marriage is hard you guys, and if you're married then you know exactly what I'm talking about, but if you're not then maybe this post gives you a little look inside what marriage is really like (not a fairytale wedding). After your wedding day comes real life and real life can kick your butt sometimes. As long as you can make that decision to love your spouse everyday whether they're driving you nuts or not, then you'll make it through! Enjoy making those memories with the person that loves you most in this world. Blake and I have have been together since 2009 and it's been a wild ride. I can't wait to see what the rest of our future holds! Thanks for reading and I hope you all enjoy these gorgeous photos! I'm going to be getting them printed and put up in our house soon because they're just too pretty! Happy Monday and have a great week!
